David Anthony

ORAN, Mo. -- David Earl Anthony, 74, of Oran died Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was the son of Earl and Mabel Martin Anthony and was born March 8, 1945, in Oran. He was united in marriage to Kathern King on June 25, 1964, in Oran.

He was a welder/heavy equipment mechanic for multiple companies, retiring in 2002. His job made it possible for David and his family to travel across the country, meeting many new people and making lifelong friends. He was a member of Operating Engineer Local No. 513 and a member of Oran Baptist Church.

David is survived by his wife, Kathern; sons, Chris Anthony of Oran and Patrick Anthony of Kansas City, Missouri; daughter, Leslie Anthony of Kansas City; brother, James Anthony of Jackson; sister, Carolyn Jett of Jackson; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be in Friend Cemetery in Oran.
