EAST PRAIRIE -- Dathel V. Woodard, 70, of East Prairie died Thursday, Sept. 7, 1995, in the Bertrand Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was born Dec. 31, 1924, near Wolf Island, daughter of Harve and Cleo E. Lindsey Ivie Allen. On Aug. 8, 1942, she married Otis R. Woodard, who preceded her in death Oct. 22, 1988...

EAST PRAIRIE -- Dathel V. Woodard, 70, of East Prairie died Thursday, Sept. 7, 1995, in the Bertrand Nursing Home after an extended illness.

She was born Dec. 31, 1924, near Wolf Island, daughter of Harve and Cleo E. Lindsey Ivie Allen. On Aug. 8, 1942, she married Otis R. Woodard, who preceded her in death Oct. 22, 1988.

Woodard lived in Mississippi County most of her life and was a member of the Full Gospel Church in East Prairie.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Woodard of Sikeston and Robin Woodard of Butler, Ala.; a daughter, Barbara Newman of Sikeston; four brothers, Harve Ivie of Sikeston and Otis, L.B. and George Ivie, all of East Prairie; two sisters, Joan Eaves and Juanita Britt, both of East Prairie; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Woodard.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Burl Britt and Mike Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
