Golden Darrell Welker, 82, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Fountainbleau Lodge.
He was born Feb. 7, 1930, in Marble Hill, Mo., son of Charles Miles and Nancy Long Welker. He married Dorothy Kirkpatrick.
Welker was a licensed practical nurse at Bond Nursing Home in Marble Hill. He worked at the hat factory 20 years, and in the laundry department at Southeast Hospital.
Survivors include a daughter, Laura Ann Pridemore (Tammy Silvey) of Cape Girardeau; Dorothy Kirkpatrick Walker of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Charles "Pete" Welker of Bessville, Mo.; a sister, Olive Trentham of Marble Hill; two grandsons, Micheal Pridemore (Lara McDonald) and Amos Pridemore; and a great-grandson, Payton Pridemore.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, George, Jake, Ardith, Homer C.M. and Bud; and three sisters, Ruby, Lola and Bonnie.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
The funeral will be at noon Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Fulbright officiating. Interment will be in Hurricane Fork Cemetery near Marble Hill.
