PARK HILLS, Mo. -- Darrell Leslie Jauch of Park Hills died peacefully at his home on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015. He was born Aug. 12, 1932, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Leslie and Ruby (Leslie) Jauch. PARK HILLS, Mo. -- Darrell Leslie Jauch of Park Hills died peacefully at his home on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015. He was born Aug. 12, 1932, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Leslie and Ruby (Leslie) Jauch.

Darrell attended high school in Cape Girardeau and graduated from Southeast Missouri State College in 1955. He also studied at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

Following his studies, Darrell taught high school in Gideon, Missouri, during the late 1950s while serving his first pastorate at Stanfield Baptist Church in Clarkton, Missouri. He then moved to Wardell, Missouri, where he served as pastor of the First Baptist Church, and where he met and married Margaret Sandage on Nov. 16, 1962. She survives.

Darrell went on to pastor at the First Baptist churches of Irondale, Missouri; East Prairie, Missouri; and Bonne Terre, Missouri. He then became the associational director of Mineral Area Baptist Association in Park Hills, where he served for 19 years until his retirement in 1997. Following his retirement, Darrell continued to serve interim pastorates at the First Baptist Church of Marquand in Marquand, Missouri, and at Coffman Baptist Church in Farmington, Missouri. During his career, Darrell served on the executive boards of The Word and Way and The Baptist Home.

In addition to his wife, Darrell is survived by his daughter, Julie Tipton of Cape Girardeau; his granddaughter, Annie-Laurie Tipton of St. Louis; a brother, Max (Sue) Jauch of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Mike Sandage of Wardell; two sisters-in-law, Judy (Bob) Stockton of Brandon, Mississippi, and Myra Sandage of Caruthersville, Missouri; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jon and Donald Jauch; two sisters, Mildred Jauch Followell and June Jauch Keller; and a grandson, Chadwick Jauch Tipton.

Visitation will be held at the C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Missouri, from 10 a.m. until the service time Wednesday. The funeral will be at 1 p.m., with Dr. William Miller officiating, assisted by Pastor Rocky Good, the Rev. Larry Johnson and the Rev. Keith Huffman. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Leadington, Missouri.
