ADVANCE, Mo. -- Darrell James DeLay, 71, of Advance passed away Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at his home.
He was born April 22, 1943, in Sikeston, Missouri, son of James and Marjorie Smith DeLay.
Darrell had been a high school math and science teacher at Bloomfield and Bell City, Missouri, schools. He later was a truck driver for Agri-Trans Trucking.
Survivors include a son, Brett DeLay of Advance; two daughters, Laura DeLay of Advance and Angela DeLay of St. Louis; three sisters, Peggy Beck of Sikeston, Avis Holloway of Springfield, Missouri, Diane Frank of Fort Myers, Florida; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Eric Shrum officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Bell City.
