Darlene D. Steffens, 48, of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, July 20, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 14, 1942, at Altenburg, daughter of Reinhold Hellwege and Bertha Perr Hellwege.
She married Dale Steffens on Jan. 7, 1984 in Cape Girardeau. He survives.

Other Survivors include her parents; a son, Mark Starnes; step-sons, Nathan Steffens, Carbondale; Greg Steffens and Ben Steffens, both of Champaign-Urbana, Ill.; a daughter, Connie Brennecke, Indianapolis, Ind.; step daughter, Susanna Steffens, Evansville, Ind.; brother, Don Hellwege, Cape Girardeau; a grandson; and three step granddaughters.
Service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, with the Rev. Carl Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
