Danny D. "Jitter" Prather, 69, of Thebes, Ill., died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 7, 1939 in Gale, Ill., to Ernest I. and Eliza Jackson Prather.
Mr. Prather has worked as a bridge painter in Illinois.
Survivors include a sister, Patricia Mathis of Gale, and a brother, Lesley "Bus" Prather of Thebes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, William, Claude, Paul, Loren, Robert and Wayne Prather; and two sisters, Virginia Tupper and Wanda Parmer.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Paul Prather officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes.
