SIKESTON, Mo. -- Joseph Daniel "Danny" Martinez, 75, of Crowder, Mo., died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.
He was born May 25, 1925, in Montrose, Colo., son of Joseph D. and Rachel Martinez. He and Mary Elizabeth Pratt were married Aug. 4, 1943, in St. Louis. She died April 30, 1993.
Martinez was a tailor at Famous Barr Department Store in St. Louis for several years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II.
He was a member of the American Legion, Post No. 595, and of the Sikeston Eagles Club.
Survivors include two stepsons, Harold Bryant of Ocala, Fla., and Glenn Bryant Sr., of St. Charles, Mo.; 10 stepgrandchildren; 30 stepgreat-grandchildren and 12 stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel. The Rev. Matthew Butrum will officiate, with the Rev. Marvin Butrum assisting. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
