BENTON -- Daniel Monroe Dempster, 69, of Benton, died Thursday, September 12, 1991 at his home.

He was born May 19, 1922 at Dielhstadt, son of Edwin and Mary Wills Dempster.

He was a decorated Navy veteran of World War II and a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton.

On May 21, 1948, he married Martha Ann Spalding. She survives.

Other survivors are two sons, Daniel R. Dempster, Williamsville and John Pete Ulmer, Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Geri Cheatham, Sikeston and Teri Buckenmyer, Wappapello; and seven grandchildren.

Service was held Saturday at St. Denis Catholic Church with the Rev. Art Basler officiating.

Burial was in St. Denis Cemetery.
