Daniel J. McKeon, 95, of Davenport, Iowa, died Saturday, April 25, 1998, at his home.
He was born July 1, 1902, in Centrailia, Iowa, son of James F. and Helena Erschens McKeon. He and Leona M. Slater were married May 3, 1927, at Dubuque.
McKeon was a tool and die maker by trade. He worked for the Rock Island Arsenal, Uchtorff Co. and Victor Animanigraph. He retired from Bendix Aviation.
He was past chairman of Quad City Chapter 23 Society of Manufacturing Engineers and a life member of the Davenport Elks Lodge. He was a member of Clifton Precision Retirees.
He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, James C. McKeon of Longmeadow, Mass., John F. McKeon of Davenport, Patrick E. McKeon of Lincolnshire, Ill., and Daniel J. McKeon of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Nestor J. McKeon of Centrailia; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, four brothers, three sisters and a granddaughter.
Friends may call at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport from 4 to 7 p.m. today. A rosary will be recited at 6:30.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul the Apolstle Catholic Church. Burial will be at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Davenport.
