Daniel W. Balsmann, 58, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, May 1, 2011, at Southeast Hospital.
He was born Dec. 21, 1952, in Cape Girardeau, to William L. and Edna L. Frizzell Balsmann. He and Cindy Curtis were married June 28, 2003, at Eminence, Mo.
Daniel was a member of the Elks Lodge in Cape Girardeau and was owner of Dan Balsmann Painting. He was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Balsmann; mother, Edna L. Balsmann; a daughter, Mo Patterson, all of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Linda Gieson (Bill) of Wright City, Mo., Kim Kelley (Mike) of Cobden, Ill.; three aunts, Wilma Myers, Flora Robert, and Rosa Lee Balsmann; two uncles, Edward Balsmann (Doris) and Elmer Balsmann (Joyce).
He was preceded in death by his father; and uncles, Herbert Balsmann, Vernon Robert and Henry Myers.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel, with reciting of the rosary at noon.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Private interment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the family for Daniel Balsmann's medical expenses.
