KIRKWOOD, Mo. -- Daniel M. Stout, 68, of Kirkwood died Monday, July 2, 2001, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in Town & Country, Mo.
He was born Dec. 29, 1932, in Cape Girardeau, son of Willard and Edna Roark Stout. He married Marjorie E. Bain, who survives.
Stout attended Cape Central High School and Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, and University of Missouri at Columbia. He worked for Whitmire Research Laboratories Inc., now Whitmire Micro-Gen, from 1958-1997, and was promoted to vice president of research and development in 1983. In November 1997 he was inducted into Pest Control Magazine's Hall of Fame.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Daniel Stout II of Sanford, N.C.; two daughters, Elisabeth Stout of St. Louis and Judith Hogan of Fruitport, Mich.; a brother, Donald Stout of Bay City, Mich.; a sister, Elizabeth Pope of Phoenix, Ariz.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Bopp Funeral Chapel in Kirkwood from 1-3 p.m. Friday.
A memorial service will be held, with the Rev. Jean Webdell officiating.
