BUNCOMBE, Ill. -- Funeral for Dale Williams of Buncombe will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Anna, Ill. The Rev. Ken Wilson will officiate.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.
Williams, 54, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, upon arrival at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion, Ill.
He was born July 15, 1946, in Makanda, Ill., son of Owin Lee and Carmen Capps Williams. He and Diana Cochran were married Feb. 12, 1968.
Williams was owner and operator of a semi trucking firm 10 years. He previously was a carpenter and coal miner.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Shannon Williams of Buncombe; a son, Jay Williams of Buncombe; two brothers, Archie Williams of West Frankfort, Ill., Roger Williams of Waco, Texas; two sisters, Carol O'Brien of Cobden, Ill., Brenda Hopper of Herrin, Ill.; and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
