Dale Wayne Wallis, 58, of Jackson passed away Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 21, 1951, in Cape Girardeau, son of Clyde and Juanita O'Daniel Wallis. He and Kathy Hansen were married March 26, 1972.

Dale attended First General Baptist Church in Jackson. He was a member of Travelers Protective Association, a life member of the National Rifle Association, and was an avid outdoorsman. He was employed for 34 years at Missouri Dry Dock, retiring in 2008.

Loving survivors include his wife of 37 years; two sons, Shane Wallis of St. Louis and Adam Wallis of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a brother, David (Susan) Wallis; and a sister, Lynda Hansen, all of Cape Girardeau; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Kevin Mann, Luther Rhodes and Mike Huffman officiating.

Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may be made to the First General Baptist Church in Jackson.
