Dale U. Propst, 82, of Sedgewickville died Sunday, March 17, 1996, at the Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson.
He was born Aug. 13, 1913, at Sedgewickville, son of Eli and Molly Statler Propst. He and Violet Crites were married March 14, 1948. She survives.
Propst was a farmer at Sedgewickville for most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a 51-year member of the American Legion in Jackson and a member of the DAV in Cape Girardeau Post 16.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Irma Boyer of Topeka, Kan.; a stepson, Edward Seabaugh of Cahokia, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Shirley Kaminskey of Jackson; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson. An American Legion honor guard service will be held at 7:30.
Funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Michael Davis will officiate, with burial in the Sedgewickville Cemetery.
