EGYPT MILLS -- Dale Oliver Heise, 89, a longtime farmer in Egypt Mills, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998, at his home.

He was born April 21, 1908, at Egypt Mills, son of Gustav and Anna Ophelia Abernathy Heise and was a lifelong resident of Egypt Mills.

He farmed the family farm and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Egypt Mills. For 14 years, he worked for the Missouri State Parks system at Trail of Tears State Park. He also played for the Cape Jungle Giants and the Egypt Mills baseball teams.

On Dec. 20, 1932, he married Nina Masterson at Jackson. She survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Richard D. "Dick" Heise of Austin, Texas, and David G. Heise of St. Joseph; three daughters, Joyce Lee Vines and Judy Elaine Purcell, both of Cape Girardeau, and Phyllis Ann Heise of Folson, La.; three sisters, Grace Hobbs of Springfield, Mo., Lillian Cundiff of Tampa, Fla., and Nelda Hobbs of Hot Springs, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Chapel.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Martin officiating. Burial will be in Egypt Mills Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.
