Dale C. Mayfield, 96, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at The Lutheran Home.

He was born July 5, 1904, at Mayfield, Mo., son of John H. and Tilda Seabaugh Mayfield. He and Alpha M. Allen were married Nov. 9, 1930, at Marble Hill, Mo. She died March 27, 1989.

Mayfield had worked at GM in Flint, Mich., farmed, worked at Lapiere-Sawyer Handle Factory, Rain's Stave Mill, and was a bailer and loader at Kasten Brick Co., retiring in 1971.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson, Mo.

Survivors include three sons, Ralph and Glen Mayfield of Jackson, Clarence Mayfield of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Dr. Brian Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
