In loving memory of Dai Vernon Coomer, a devoted husband to Betty Coomer for 32 years since their union April 4, 1992. Born on May 15, 1964, Dai passed away Wednesday, Nov. 22, at the age of 59, leaving behind a legacy of love.
He cultivated a life rich with devotion, raising 10 children and creating cherished memories with 17 grandchildren. Dai dedicated over two decades to his work at Campbell Mattress, impacting both colleagues and the community.
Beyond being a family man, Dai was a cherished friend and mentor, his kindness and wisdom touching many lives. His passions extended to the sports arena, proudly supporting both the Rams and the Chiefs. An aficionado of Pink Floyd, Dai's diverse interests reflected his vibrant spirit.
Dai was preceded in death by his parents, William and Jurea Coomer.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, of Cape Girardeau, leaving a legacy through his 10 children: Betty Cox of Ankeny, Iowa, Doris Cordevant of St. Louis, Christina Miles of Jackson, Ryan Coomer of Springfield, Missouri, Daiana Coomer, Jessica Coomer, Mitchell Coomer, all of Cape Girardeau, Adam Coomer of Wakita, Oklahoma, Alec Coomer of Cape Girardeau and Sonja Carter of Dayton, Ohio. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, a brother, sister, nephews, and his beloved cat, Lokey.
Family and friends whose lives were touched by Dai attended a visitation Sunday, Nov. 26, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral service, officiated by Pastor Scott Moon, was held Sunday, Nov. 26, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Birthright of Marble Hill, Missouri.
