PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Cynthia Kay Sinden, 49, of Dixon, Missouri, departed this life Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015, at Dixon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She had been in failing health for some time. PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Cynthia Kay Sinden, 49, of Dixon, Missouri, departed this life Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015, at Dixon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She had been in failing health for some time.

She was born in Perryville, a daughter of Vernon and Esther Oehlert Petzoldt. She and Paul James Sinden were married June 10, 2006, at New Wells.

Cynthia was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in St. Robert, Missouri, and the teachers association. She was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and William Woods. She had taught special education at Dixon School District more than 23 years. She especially enjoyed scrapbooking, reading, helping people and watching TV.

Those left to mourn her passing include her husband, Paul Sinden of Dixon; two daughters, Briana King and Adriana King of Dixon; two stepdaughters, Nicole Sinden and Jessica Sinden of Dixon; a granddaughter, Hannah Shockley; her mother, Esther Petzoldt of Shawneetown; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elva and Fay Sinden of Dixon; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Tina and Mark Riehn of Millersville, Pamela and Robert Wenger of St. Peters, Missouri, and Renae Petzoldt of Jackson; nephews, nieces, and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon, Sept. 27, 1976.

The funeral was Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church, with the Rev. John Perling of St. Louis officiating. The congregation sang "Amazing Grace" and "The Will of God Is Always Best" for the service. Interment was in Dixon Cemetery. Pallbearers were Zachery Wenger, Tim Welp, Levi Sinden, John Riehn, Carl Brooks and Steve Sinden. Honorary pallbearer was J.R. Sinden.

Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Dixon was in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the wishes of the family, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
