Cynthia Ann Shepard, 87, of Cape Girardeau passed on Wednesday July 27, 2022, at Fountainbleau Lodge.

Cynthia was born July 21, 1935, in Norris City, Illinois, to Walter and Gladys Williams Boyd.

She and Lloyd Vernon Shepard were married in 1975. He proceeded her in death in 2008.

Cynthia enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband. Shep's laughter, love and bits of wisdom were a joy to her.

She had worked as an independent insurance broker for more than 40 years and truly loved her work and making many friends and acquaintances.

She was a member of St. Mary Cathedral.

Survivors include a son, Robert Harold (Denise) Hawke of Bradenton, Florida; daughter, Cynthia Ann (Mickey Palmer) Hawke of Cape Girardeau; nephew, Harold Moore of South Carolina; grandson, Robert Everett Hawke; great-grandchildren, Robert David Hawke and Haylee Hawke; dear friends she loved as family, Kathy Hargrove and Joe and Donna Sikes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lloyd Vernon Shepard; sister, Mathel Scott; brothers, Henry and Herman R. Boyd; and grandson, David Charles Hawke.

Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary's Cathedral at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; St. Mary Cathedral, 615 William St., Cape Girardeau, MO 63703; and a charity of choice .
