CHICAGO -- Cynthia Michelle Higgins, 46, of Chicago died Monday, June 11, 2012, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
She was born May 4, 1966, in Chicago, to Albert and Shirley Jackson Higgins.
Cynthia attended Maywood School Systems where she graduated from Irving Elementary in 1980 and Proviso East High in 1984. She attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau and received a bachelor of science in mass communication and business management.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Melrose Park under the leadership of John L. Belser. She was employed by Ameritech more than 10 years, and was currently employed with a prominent engineering firm in Chicago and was president of Maywood Park District Board of Commissioners.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a son, Sydney Raymond; a daughter, Taylor Gabrielle Rose; two brothers, Talbert and Ronnie; two sisters, Angela and Verna; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside rites were held Saturday at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, with Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
