BLOOMFIELD -- Curtis Robey, 90, of Bloomfield died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997, at the Bloomfield Nursing Center.
He was born Jan. 25, 1907, at Avert, son of Martin Van and Nervia Eliza Bolin Robey.
He retired from the Cotton Belt Railroad in the early 1960s after 30 years of service. He then worked as an engineer for Missouri Barge Lines for 10 years. He was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield.
He married Jane Hammonds on Nov. 1, 1930.
Survivors include his wife of Bloomfield; two daughters, Pansy Jines and Violet Dowdy of Bloomfield; three sisters, Mollie Cook of Cincinnati, Hazel Reed of Flint, Mich., and Opal Williams of Deyton Plains, Mich.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers.
Friends may call at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Kevin Eskew will officiate, with burial in the Walker Cemetery at Bloomfield.
