CORNELIUS BLATTEL

SCOTT CITY -- Cornelius John Blattel, 65, Scott City Route 1, died Thursday, Feb. 29, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 19, 1930, at Scott City, son of Herman and Blanche Hamm Blattel. He and Irene Uhrhan were married May 8, 1954, at Benton.

Blattel had farmed all his life in the Kelso area. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church at Kelso.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Larry Blattel of Kelso; two daughters, Darlene Beardslee of Bloomsdale, Mary Brinkmeyer of Barnhart; a brother, Herbert Blattel of Arbor; a sister, Ramona Glastetter of Kelso, and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City after 5 p.m. today. The rosary will be recited at 7, and Knights of Columbus service will be held at 7:30.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Augustine Church, with the Rev. James Seyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
