Corene Frentzel, 79, of Belleville, Ill., died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville.
She was born Dec. 16, 1919, in Iuka, Ky., daughter of Sam and Emma Sexton Tucker. She first married William Penny Moore, who preceded her in death. She and Herbert Frentzel were married in 1941. He died Nov. 28, 1969.
Frentzel moved to Belleville from Cape Girardeau in 1968. She had been a waitress at various restaurants, and had owned Corene's Cafe. She was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, and First Assembly of God Church in Belleville.
Survivors include three daughters, Cora Lee Sample of Cape Girardeau, Emma Culver and Kay Barbee of Columbia; seven sons, Jimmy Moore of St. Charles, Victor Frentzel of Cape Girardeau, Charles Frentzel of St. Louis, Sammy Frentzel of Tacoma, Wash., Kenneth Frentzel of Fort Wayne, Ind., Herbert "Junior" Frentzel of Swansea, Ill., and Tim "Joker" Frentzel of Belleville.
Also surviving is a brother, Charles Tucker of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Gertrude Thorn of Cape Girardeau; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter.
A private memorial service will be held in Uniontown. Burial will be in Grace Lutheran Cemetery.
George Renner and Sons Funeral Home in Belleville is in charge of arrangements.
