CORDIA DENTON

CHAFFEE -- Cordia Denton, 85, of Ortonville, Mich., died Wednesday, April 19, 1995, in Ortonville.

She was born Aug. 17, 1909, at Puxico, daughter of Victor and Pearl Glenn Shrum. She married Howard Denton in St. Louis. He died in 1989.

Denton lived in Chaffee 20 years, moving to Ortonville six months ago. She was a member of the Christian Church in Chaffee.

Survivors include two brothers, Vanis Shrum of Edwardsville, Ill., Varnell Shrum of Wappapello, and a sister, Grace Walls of Ortonville.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico after 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Wiley McGhee officiating. Burial will be in Elliot Cemetery near Puxico.
