ANNA, Ill. -- Ronald Corydon "Cord" Finch, 64, of Anna died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born April 27, 1934, in Anna, son of Eleazer Corydon and Beulah May Adams Finch. He and Mickey Martin were married June 6, 1985.
Finch received a bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University in 1956, and juris doctorate from the University of Chicago Law School in 1959.
He was editor for the University of Chicago Law Review from 1958-59; was an instructor in law at the university, and was an associate with the firm of Dallstream, Schiff, Hardin, Waite and Dorchel from 1959-60; and was an instructor in government at SIU in 1961.
Finch was a special assistant attorney general in Illinois from 1965-68; was state's attorney of Union County from 1970-72; and had a private practice in Anna more than 35 years before retiring in 1997 due to ill health.
He had been involved with Friends of the Morris Library, Union County Counseling, Fellowship House, Union County Housing Authority, and Union County Economic Development Corp.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jennifer Finch of Oakland, Calif.; a son, Andrew Finch of Santa Monica, Calif.; two stepchildren, Michelle Hodges and Nathan Hodges, both of Manhattan Beach, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Anna from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
