MOUNDS, Ill. -- Cora Mae Ellis, 76, of Mounds, died Saturday, May 21, 1994 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born in Pulaski, Ill. on Aug. 4, 1917, the daughter of Henry and Josie Chapman Crippen. She was a retired cook. She was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mound City...
MOUNDS, Ill. -- Cora Mae Ellis, 76, of Mounds, died Saturday, May 21, 1994 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born in Pulaski, Ill. on Aug. 4, 1917, the daughter of Henry and Josie Chapman Crippen. She was a retired cook.
She was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mound City.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Frey, Cairo, Barbara Pelo, Bloomington, Ill.; one son, Harold Lynn Ellis, Mounds; two sisters, Ruth Miller Davis, Mounds; Anna Mae Taylor, Thebes; a brother, Elmer Crippen, Cape Girardeau; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Monday at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds. Parish prayers will be held at Monday at 7 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds with the Rev. Bill McGhee officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park in Murphysboro, Ill.
