Connie Faye Wilcox Gibson, 76, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Ratliff Care Center.
She was born April 11, 1943, in Columbus, Kansas, daughter of Homer Carl and Bonnie Faye Crain Wilcox.
Connie graduated from Columbus High School in 1960. She was a cosmetologist and worked for the Boeing Corp. in Wichita, Kansas.
She moved from Kansas to Cape Girardeau in 2001 to be closer to family and to receive nursing care. She was fortunate to have extraordinary experiences at Cape Town and for the past seven years, Ratliff Care Center. The Ratliff Care Center staff became her second family, and the Gibson, Taylor and Jordan families will be forever grateful for the stellar care, love and compassion they gave Connie.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Sandra West Gibson; granddaughter, Caylin; sister, Carolyn Wilcox Taylor; and niece, Carla (Dr. Steve) Jordan, as well as many friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved nephew, Brian Ray Taylor.
A memorial celebration of Connie's life will be held later in the summer in Columbus.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
The family would also like to thank the congregants of Abbey Road Christian Church for years of loving visitation and support. Connie treasured your visits and prayers.
