BLOOMFIELD -- Funeral service for Clyde L. Burdine of Greenway, Ark., formerly of Bloomfield, will be held at 11 a.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home. The Rev. Mack Williams will officiate, with burial in Harper Cemetery at Aid.
Burdine, 74, died Saturday, July 29, 1995, at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter.
He was born Aug. 2, 1920, at Aid, son of Harve Lincoln and Vestye Myra Burdine. He married the former Vergie Simpson, who died in 1994.
Burdine was a member of American Legion Post here, and First General Baptist Church in Piggott, Ark. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Larie Burdine of Essex, Tony Burdine of Cincinnati, Ohio; two daughters, Peggy Hunt of Bowling Green, Ky., Mary Peercy of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Ruth Crenshaw of Bloomfield; six stepchildren; 12 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
