ORAN -- Funeral service for Clyde Eugene Mungle of Oran was Saturday afternoon at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. The Rev. Don Russell officiated with burial in New Lorimier Cemetery at Cape Girardeau.
Mungle, 73, died Wednesday, May 10, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 15, 1921, at Burfordville, son of Clarence and Alpha McElreath Mungle. He married Marion Francis Cruce July 18, 1959.
He was retired from Lowes Inc. at Oran. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Oran. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Gary Mungle of Cape Girardeau; two stepsons, Orville Cruce of McGee, Ark., and Delmar Cruce of Cape Girardeau; two stepdaughters, Deanie Hadley and Evelyn Ricketts, both of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, George Mungle of Chaffee and Earl Mungle of Little Rock, Ark.; two sisters, Monta Bartels of Columbia and Beulah Thorn of St. Louis; 13 stepgrandchildren; and 10 great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Jan. 6, 1990, a sister and a grandchild.
