THEBES, Ill. -- Clyde Dunn, 68, of Thebes, Ill., died Saturday, Aug. 7, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born Sept. 20, 1924, at Thebes, Ill., son of Clyde F. and Ida Mae Mosher Dunn. He married Ida Mae Peter, Jan. 13, 1945, at West Palm Beach, Fla. She died Nov. 15, 1986...

THEBES, Ill. -- Clyde Dunn, 68, of Thebes, Ill., died Saturday, Aug. 7, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 20, 1924, at Thebes, Ill., son of Clyde F. and Ida Mae Mosher Dunn.

He married Ida Mae Peter, Jan. 13, 1945, at West Palm Beach, Fla. She died Nov. 15, 1986.

He married Wanda L. Williams, Aug. 25, 1988, at Wickliffe, Ky. She died Aug. 1, 1991.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.

Dunn worked for the U.S. Corps of Engineers as an inspector for more than 39 years.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, the VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau, the Thebes Historical Society, the Alexander County Senior Citizens Board and the Thebes Town Board.

Survivors include two sons, Rodney Dunn of Olive Branch, Ill., Dennis Dunn of Edwardsville, Ill.; two daughters, Roberta Skaggs and Linda Culkin, both of Thebes, Ill.; four brothers, Luther Dunn of St. Louis, Clyde V. Dunn and Bob Dunn, both of Thebes, Ill., Loyd Dunn of Scott City; four sisters, Ruby Clubb and Sylvia Clubb, both of Thebes, Ill., Venus Pettit of Scott City, Edna Kessee of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons and a brother.

Friends may call 4-8 p.m. today at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Steven MacDougal officiating.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes, Ill. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by VFW Post 3838.
