PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Clyde A. Brown, 85, of Perryville died Monday, March 3, 2014, at Perry Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation in Perryville.

He was born Aug. 20, 1928, in Perry County, son of Moritz and Ellen Doll Brown. He and Irma Balsman were married April 19, 1952.

Clyde worked for Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Council 1263, American Legion Post 133, Royal Order of the Fleas, United Commercial Travelers and past secretary, past alderman of Ward 2, past leader of Boy Scouts of America Troop 251, and past Perryville Police Auxiliary.

He was a member of the National Guard 41 years.

Survivors include his wife; five children, Debora (Tom) Parres of Jackson, Daniel (Crystal) Brown of Perryville, Timothy (Kate) Brown of St. Louis, Kent Brown of Cape Girardeau and Rebecca (Mike) Winkler of Jefferson City, Mo.; a sister, Jean Funk of St. Louis; 15 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant child, four sisters and six brothers.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. The parish and Knights of Columbus wake will be at 6.

Funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Knights of Columbus Council 1263.
