JONESBORO, Ill. -- Clyde Bailey, 83, of Jonesboro died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at Jonesboro Health Care Center.
He was born Aug. 25, 1916, in Franklin County, son of Valentine and Inez Bettis Bailey.
Bailey had owned and operated the Black and Tan in Olive Branch 33 years. Prior to that he was a coal miner in the Benton-West Frankfort areas.
Survivors include a son, David Bailey of Kansas City, Mo.; two stepsons, Paul Stokes of Waterloo, Donald Stokes of Tampa, Fla.; three stepdaughters, Lela Stokes of Waterloo, Barbara Bailey of Olive Branch, Brenda Pearl of East Cape Girardeau; and eight granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by two wives, a son, and a stepson.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms from 5-8 p.m. today. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Masonic and Oddfellows Cemetery in Benton. The Rev. Billy Don Heady will officiate.
