Clinton James "CJ" Hindman, son to the late Cassius Clinton and Bertie Mae Bird Hindman, was born Oct. 19, 1928, in Chaffee, Missouri and departed this life Sunday, May 24, 2020, in Cape Girardeau at the age of 91 years.
He was united in marriage to Dimple Mae Pirtle on Aug. 28, 1948, and she survives.
He attended Chaffee General Baptist Church in Chaffee. He first worked for C.C. Hindman Lumber Co., then as a driver for Holsum Bread, then Cape Ready Mix and eventually was hired by the Frisco Railroad in September of 1956. He retired in 1990 from the Burlington Northern Railroad after 34 years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Dimple Hindman, son, Jim (Robyn) Hindman, and daughter, Vickie (Bill) Griffin, all of Chaffee; grandchildren, Lisa (Steve Ruppel) Lange, Kara (Eric) Seyer and Cassie Hindman; and great-grandchildren, Karlee Seyer, Luke Seyer and Kaycee Seyer.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mollie Hindman.
There will be a private family visitation and service today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, followed by a private graveside service at Union Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Bob Lewis officiating.
