MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Clint Delain VanMatre, 76, of Marble Hill died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 12, 1937, at Zalma, Missouri, son of Noah and Lillian Jackson VanMatre.

VanMatre retired from Lutesville Motor Co. where he had worked as service manager. He was a member of Cape County Cowboy Church at Oak Ridge.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include two daughters, Sherry (Mark) McCormick of Marble Hill, and Pamela Rodriguez of Las Vegas; three grandchildren, Chad McCormick of Sedgewickville, Missouri, Kent McCormick and Chelsea Baker of Marble Hill; four sisters, Freeda Huskey and Shirley Bollinger of Marble Hill, Ruth Hinkle of Cape Girardeau and Kay Smith of Wetumpka, Alabama; and eight great-grandchildren.

Two brothers preceded him in death.

The funeral was Monday at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating. Burial was in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, with military honors conducted.
