SIKESTON, Mo. -- The funeral for Clint McKenzie Hensley Sr. of Sikeston will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Carl Addison will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery, with military rites by Missouri Military Funeral Honor Guard.
Hensley, 77, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 12, 1925, in Linden, Tenn., son of Sid and Vera James Hensley. He and Clodean Bewley were married Jan. 3, 1947, in Kewanee, Mo. She died Oct. 11, 1992.
Hensley owned and operated Hensley Construction Co. He was a member of James Tanner Amvets Post 0149, and Missouri Honorary Sheriffs Association.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Clint Hensley Jr. of Morehouse, Mo.; four daughters, Barbara Matney of Overland, Mo., Iritta Byrum and Mary Howard of Sikeston, and Ritta Newton of Morehouse.
Also surviving are a half-brother, David Jones of Matthews, Mo.; five sisters, Dollie Vaughn and Irene Hughes of Morehouse, Melba Burnett of Ripley, Miss., Jo Coffman of Matthews, Frankie Hicks of Canalou, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, two brothers and a sister.
