OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Clifton D. Miller, 86, of Olive Branch passed away at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at his home.
Clifton was born Oct, 29, 1930, in Alexander County, Illinois, son of the late Eugene D. Miller and Alma I. Webb Miller.
Clifton was an Army veteran; a retired construction laborer; and was a member of the Crusaders for Christ Church in Mounds, Illinois.
Clifton was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lela Mae Cohen Miller on July 13, 2016; a daughter, Lois Miller; two sons, Clifton E. Miller and Charles E. "Scope" Miller; two brothers; and two infant sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Doris (Steve) Sims of Tamms, Illinois; a brother, Charles (Lola) Miller of Olive Branch; daughter-in-law, Ruthie Miller; grandchildren, Garrett (Brandy) Miller, Sabrina (Archie) Busby and Kaitlyn Miller; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday at the Crusaders for Christ Church in Mounds.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Pastor Danny Beggs officiating, with a church dinner to follow services. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Olive Branch Cemetery, with full military honors given by Illinois National Guard Burial Team and area veterans.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorials to Hospice of Southern Illinois, 204 Halfway Road, Marion, IL 62959, in memory of Clifton Miller.
