ADVANCE, Mo. -- Clifford T. Gowen, 92, of Advance died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, at Advance Nursing Center.
He was born Jan. 28, 1909, at Eminence, Mo., son of James and Minnie Foster Gowen. He and Mary Burke were married Nov. 30, 1945, in Piggott, Ark.
Gowen was a carpenter and farmer.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Daniel Gowen of Zalma, Mo., Donald Gowen of Leopold, Mo., Bob Gowen of Marble Hill, Mo., Jerry Gowen of Arab, Mo.; two daughters, Patricia Cross of Lancaster, Pa., Janet Sechrest of Marble Hill; a brother, Ray Gowen of Dexter, Mo.; two sisters, Dorothy Parker of Dexter, Mary Eaves of San Bernardino, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 4:30-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Rudy Pittman will officiate. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park.
