Cletus Mitchell Nance, 69, of Jackson died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 11, 1933, at Delta, son of Adam and Daisy Nance. He and Jacqueline Yvonne Little were married May 21, 1961, in Cape Girardeau.

Nance worked at Koch's Service Station four years, and was manager and area supervisor at Thoni Oil Co. He worked for the city of Cape Girardeau, and retired from McBride Service Station. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3838.

He served in the U.S. Army from June 12, 1953, to May 3, 1955. He served eight years in the Army Reserve.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Karen Nance of Jackson; two brothers, Clifford Nance of Little Rock, Ark., James Nance of Cape Girardeau; and a sister, Marjorie Roberts of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. William Marshall will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park, with military graveside rites by VFW Post 3838 and Missouri Military Honor Guard.
