NEW HAMBURG, Mo. -- Cletus P. Menz, 84, of New Hamburg passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, at his family home.
He was born March 12, 1932, in New Hamburg to the late Leo Jacob and Emeline Josephine Urhahn Menz. He married Dorothy C. Heisserer on April 4, 1959, and she survives of the home.
Cletus was a retired construction worker by day, then came home to his favorite job of working on the family farm. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church of New Hamburg. Cletus served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three sons, Danny (Kathy) Menz of New Hamburg, Kevin Menz of Jackson and Terry J. Menz of Scott City; two daughters, Sharon Owens and Joyce (Wade) Owens, both of Cape Girardeau; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Michael Casteel officiating. Burial will be at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery with full military honors.
