CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Cletus J. Haas, 80, of Charleston died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 19, 1919, in Mascoutah, Ill., son of August and Mary Wolfersberger Haas. He and Helen Blackman were married on April 21, 1945. She died April 30, 2000.
Haas lived in Mississippi County most of his life where he worked with Crenshaw Distributing until becoming owner and operator of Haas Distributing.
He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Charleston.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Haas of Cape Girardeau and John Haas of Charleston; two daughters, Sally Poyner of Elkhart, Ind., and Nancy Chandler of Charleston; a brother, Elmer Haas of Belleville, Ill.; a sister, Dorothy Kampwerth of Carlyle, Ill.; a special member of the family, Ellen Crosier of Charleston; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where a prayer service will take place at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Henry Catholic Church. The Rev. Gerald Brown will officiate, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
