CANALOU -- Cletus Ray Brothers, 62, of Canalou, died Friday, March 17, 1995, at the Veterans Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn.

He was born Aug. 28, 1932, in Charleston, son of Joseph R. and Ethel McKinzie Brothers. He and Ruby White Terry were married Nov. 16, 1961, in Canalou.

Brothers attended Charleston public schools and was a veteran of the Korean conflict, having served in Berlin, Germany. He was a farmer and had worked for R.D. James Farms in New Madrid.

Survivors are his wife; three sons, Douglas Terry, David Terry and Joe Brothers, all of Canalou; three daughters, Debbie Phillips and Gwen Hickman, both of Matthews, and Monica Fowler of Canalou; three brothers, the Rev. Charles W. Brothers of Poplar Bluff, L.V. Brothers of Morehouse, and Billie Joe Brothers of Charleston; two sisters, Jewell Jones of Charleston and Arneita B. Price of East Prairie; and several grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Nunelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Amos Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Ash Hill Cemetery.
