Cletis H. Shirrell, 83, of Jackson died Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 29, 1932, in Cape Girardeau to Clarence H. and Gertie A. (Smith) Shirrell.
Cletis served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for the family business, Cape Ready Mix, and construction for 40-plus years. Cletis loved the outdoors and spending time with his family.
Survivors include two sons, Rick Shirrell of Saint Louis and Dick Shirrell of O'Fallon, Missouri; a daughter, Vicki Warren of Jackson; four brothers, Clarence Lee Shirrell, Clinton Shirrell, Clayton Shirrell and Charles Shirrell, all of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Wilma Ervin of Cape Girardeau, Bonnie Christy of Jackson and Mildred Eastwood of Apopka, Florida; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m.
