Cletis J. Eakins, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, at his home.
He was born Nov. 5, 1913, at Allenville, son of Robert and Louise Deimund Eakins. He and Leola Winkler were married March 15, 1936, in Murphysboro, Ill.
Eakins owned and operated Eakins Cabinet Shop. He was a member of Carpenters Union 1770.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Wayne Eakins of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Earl Eakins of Delta; two sisters, Ruby Mabrey of Allenville, Rosie Hitt of Advance; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Cy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
