LILBOURN -- Clementine Terry Thomas, 65, of Lilbourn died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 3, 1934, in Utica, Miss., daughter of Paul and Elvira Thomas Terry Sr. She married Andrew Thomas on Dec. 3, 1955. He survives.
She had lived in Missouri for more than 45 years and was a 1979 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, receiving her bachelor's degree in education. She was a 4-H leader, a Scout den mother, and a member of the NAACP and other organizations. She was employed by the D.A.E.O.C. Corp. for more than 34 years and was the education director.
She was a member of the House of Deliverance Church of God in Christ in Portageville, a State Mother, member of the Mother Board, a Sunday school teacher and church secretary.
She also is survived by four daughters, Evelyn Pulliam of Kennett, Ruth Etta Thomas of Memphis, Tenn., Eloise Hudson of Cape Girardeau and Vicki Adams of Jefferson City; two sons, Duane Thomas of Palestine, Texas, and Andrew Thomas Jr. of New Jersey; five sisters, Lucille Brown of Utica, Murlene Taylor of Raymond, Miss., Florence Pullen of Creve Coeur, Emma Jean Terry of Jackson, Miss., and Vera Thomas of Omaha, Neb.; four brothers, Charles Curtis Terry, Grady Terry and Herbert Terry, all of Jackson, Miss., and James Terry of Houston, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Green Memorial Church of God in Christ in Sikeston.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday at the church with Bishop Charlie Green Jr. officiating.
Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid.
Williams-Farr & Purnell Funeral Home in Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
