CHARLESTON -- Clem V. Burcks, 83, Charleston Route 2, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Feb. 14, 1915, at Charleston, son of John H. and Annie A. Layton Burcks.
Burcks had lived in the Texas Bend Community north of Charleston all his life, and had made his home with the William R. Telker family for more than 66 years.
He had been a farmer, and was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two nephews, Charles "Sonny" Burcks of Charleston and Cletus Burcks of the state of California.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Prayer service will be at 7.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Henry's Church, with the Rev. Rich Lause officiating. Burial will be in Texas Bend Cemetery.
