LAKE WALES, Fla. -- Claudis W. Hency Jr., 90, of Lake Wales died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center.
He was born June 6, 1927, in Morley, Missouri, to Claudis W. and Lula Mae Estes Hency.
He and Helen Louise Seabaugh were married Oct. 17, 1949, at Cape Girardeau. He served in the U.S. Army.
Claudis worked for Uregas in Cape Girardeau for 19 years. From 1967 to 1983, he was a distributor for Amoco Oil Company.
He moved to Florida in 1983 and was a camp director for a youth center. He then worked for Warner Southern College and the Lake Wales YMCA after retirement.
He was a member of The Church of God in Anderson, Indiana.
Survivors include his three daughters, Linda K. Witzel of Sikeston, Missouri; Donna Sue (Greg) Cole of Lake Wales and Terri Lou Noland of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Pauline (Norman) Burgess and Clara (Harold) Dunham; two brothers, Don Hency of Oran, Missouri, and Robert (Lea) Hency of Jackson; a brother-in-law, Ralph Lee (Wilma) Seabaugh; two granddaughters, Michelle (Chris) Martin and Emily (Nick) Losinger; three grandsons, Chad (Brooke) Noland, Michael Witzel and Cory (Amanda) Witzel; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; mother, Lula Mae Hency; father, Claudis W Hency Sr.; a sister, Mayme Clausen; and four brothers, Charles, Neal, Eugene and Ralph Hency.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Doug Lucy officiating.
Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
