BLODGETT, Mo. -- Claudia Gadberry, 72, of Blodgett died Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 10, 1938, in Dover, Ark., daughter of Omer and Ruby Mason Freeman. She and Doye F. Gadberry were married Nov. 15, 1952. He preceded her in death Oct. 9, 2005.
Claudia was a janitor many years at Scott County Central High School. She also cared for 14 handicapped foster children over the years.
Survivors include three sons, Rick (Cindy) Gadberry of Chaffee, Mo., Danny (Pam) Gadberry of Lebanon, Ohio, Keith (Loretta) Gadberry of Blodgett; a daughter, Debbie Glastetter of Grant City, Mo.; a brother, Larry Freeman of Sikeston, Mo.; three sisters, Hazel (Daniel) Burton of Morehouse, Mo., Cindy (James) Lewis of Fort Worth, Texas, Katie (Ed) Kinder of Beaumont, Miss.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and a granddaughter.
Visitation will be from noon to service time Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Billy Joe Gadberry officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, Mo.
