MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Claude Camden Vance, 61, of Marble Hill passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 3, 1951, in Albuquerque, N.M., son of Gerald Grant and Juanita "Jenny" Felipa Fajardo Vance.
Vance was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was a member of the Catholic church. He was a talented artist who possessed a love for nature, which was reflected in his work. Claude was a loving father, devoted brother, and caring friend to many.
Survivors include his children, Tasha Vance, Danielle Gemeinhardt, Courtney Vance and Brianna Vance; the mother of his children, Susan Johnson; siblings, Theresa Walters, Paul Vance, Lloyd Vance, Marcos Fajardo, Donna Boese, Susan Choate, Elizabeth Heule; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Benjamin Vance; his parents, Gerald and Jenny Vance; a sister, Denise Vance; and a brother, Anthony Vance.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until time of service Friday at Hutchings Funeral Chapel.
The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with Jerry Trentham officiating. Inurnment will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at McGee Chapel Cemetery near Glenallen, Mo. Military honors will be conducted by Marine Corps League.
