CHAFFEE -- Funeral service for Claude H. Gibbons of Chaffee will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Rev. William F. Fish will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Watis Harrell. Burial will be in Kenyon Cemetery at Delta.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30.

Gibbons, 74, died Monday, Jan. 16, 1995, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 4, 1920, at Delta, son of Earl and Gladys Steen Gibbons. He and Colleen Fish were married Dec. 24, 1940.

Gibbons retired as an entomologist with Cape-Kil Pest Control Co. in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of Chaffee Masonic Lodge 615. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Dwight Gibbons of Pasadena, Texas; two daughters, Darla Meyers of St. Charles, Sandy Strong of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, brother and sister.
